Celebrating tagore and indian art

The Indian Cultural Centre and Bharat Book House present "Bharat Dashan", an exhibition of Indian art by Apichai Vichitpiyakul, art editor at Butterfly Book House.



On display are 30 acrylic paintings and ink drawings inspired by Indian art and culture as well as by the works of Indian poet and philosopher Rabindranath Tagore, the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize for literature (in 1913).


Some of the images on display have appeared on the covers and as illustrations in the Thai edition of Fireflies, Sadhana: The Realisation of Life and India Perspective _ Rabindranath Tagore. The three titles were published by Bharat Book House to mark the 150th anniversary of Tagore's birth.


The exhibition opens today and continues until Sept 29 at the Indian Cultural Centre, Jasmine City Tower (27th floor), Sukhumvit Soi 23. There is no admission charge.


The centre is open daily, except Sundays and Mondays, between 11am and 6pm.
