US shares closed flat in thin trading overnight following disappointing global economic reports.
Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 18.97 points, or 0.14 per cent at 13,596.93.
SP 500 fell 0.79 points, or 0.05 per cent to end at 1,460.26.
Among the key SP sectors, industrials and financials shares finished lower, while consumer staples managed small gains.
Nasdaq composite lost 6.66 points, or 0.21 per cent at 3,175.96.
