Roman-Germanic Museum
The Roman-Germanic Museum (RGM) in Cologne is showing a collection of new artefacts found during the construction of an underground railway line in the German city between 2004 and 2011.
The construction work involved one of the largest archaeological projects ever undertaken in a major European city, when around 2.5 million objects from various epochs were uncovered. The finds included early Roman military implements, ancient temple walls, medieval fortifications and ruined cellars dating back to World War II. The exhibition runs until May 5. - DPA
Przemysl fortress to reopen
Renovation work on the Renaissance fortress in the Polish city of Przemysl is due to be completed by the end of the year. Work in the building's interior included fitting the theatre out with a new lighting and sound system, while archaeological excavations have taken place around the hill on which the fortress is built. The remains of a medieval Orthodox Christian church are among the archaeological finds, according to the Polish tourist office.
Dancing with Disney
Disney fans should make a trip to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Museum in Simi Valley near Los Angeles. More than 500 Disney exhibits including props, costumes and artworks are on display in the 11,000-square-metre complex. Around half the exhibits are on show to the public for the first time, according to the Los Angeles tourist office.
