Sompat Kaewpichit, a former Chart Thai Nakhon Pathom MP and former deputy agriculture and cooperatives minister in the Samak Sundaravej government, was found dead in a room of a Chiang Mai hotel on Saturday night, reports said.
The body of Sompat, 52, was found lying face down in the toilet of a suite on the 10th floor, wearing a long-sleeved sweater and a pair of jeans.
