Luksika Kumkhum and Varatchaya Wongteanchai have been handed wild cards for the main draw of the PTT Pattaya Open WTA, at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Pattaya from January 27 to February 3. Luksika gets a berth on the strength of recent performances that have catapulted her into the world top 200.

Doubles specialist Varatchaya gained her wild card after beating Luksika for the title at Bangkok's ATF Asian Tennis Championships in December. The two Thai women will take their places in the main draw alongside world stars Ana Ivanovic, Maria Kirilenko, Sabine Lisicki, Sorana Cirstea, Heather Watson Laura Robson, Hseih Su-wei and Kimiko Date-Krumm.
