Due to popular demand, Spring Theatre is bringing back the play Dek Piset (Special Kid), which revolves around the relationship between a mother and a child with autism.
Special Kid is back on stage at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre from Feb 22 to March 3 (except Feb 25 to 27).
Staged in collaboration with the Support Foundation and its Education for Special and Disadvantaged Children project, the play aims to promote a better understanding of children with autism, especially among family members.
Directed by Rachaya Limpiyachart, the drama will feature the same cast of three main characters as in the 2011 version. It includes two AF7 acting trainers Rossukon "Kru Ngoh" Kongket and Oraphan "Kru Bew" Atsamat, and Anant Promdirek. They will be joined by Wiwit Bavornkiratikachorn or Tee-AK4.
The show will also feature for the first time a special song, Poo Mee Kwam Samart Mai Piset (People whose ability is not special), composed and sung by popular songwriter/singer Boy Trai.
A total of 11 shows are on the cards at the auditorium of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre on its 5th floor; the dates are Feb 22 to 24, Feb 28 and March 1 to 3 at 7pm, plus a 2.30pm matinee on weekends.
Part of the proceeds from the play will be donated to the Foundation of Autistic Children.
